Disney Parks’ Reopening Ad Incites Horror Edits After Giving Off Dystopian Vibes

Disney World in Orlando has reopened its gates to its Magic Kingdom, and to welcome guests into the park, the attraction released a rather spooky video.
The ad shows park employees staring into the camera and repeating the phrase, “Welcome home.” Their voices are muffled due to their face masks, giving off a rather dystopian vibe.
According to Slate, the Disney Parks Jobs account tweeted the video, but quickly took it down last Saturday. The video caught the attention of many Twitter users, who decided to make edits and add a spookier soundtrack to turn it into a rather haunting video.
One Twitter user decided to replace Disney’s cheerful theme to Jordan Peele’s Us, and the mood instantly changed. Another Twitter user decided to edit another video showing Disney employees preparing to reopen the empty park. He replaced it with the music to the soundtrack of The Shining, sending chills down your spine.
NPR reported that Disney has enforced a mask mandate and other guidelines to minimize the spread of coronavirus. Guest will have to make reservations ahead of time and temperature checks will be conducted at entry.
