Amazon Creates Filter To Let You Try Shoes From Favorite Brands Virtually
By Nicole Rodrigues, 10 Jun 2022
Have you ever found a pair of shoes on Amazon but resisted the urge to add them to your cart because you didn’t know if they would look nice on you? The e-commerce giant has a solution for you. With the release of ‘Virtual Try-On for Shoes’, customers can now test all the footwear they want from the comfort of their own couch.
Customers can look at shoes from multiple angles, as well as switch between different colorways, using the new augmented-reality filter.
And if you can’t decide which shoe to take, you can also take a picture of the shoes and share it on your social media to ask for your friends’ help.
Joining the roster of footwear people can use the AR filter on are Asics, Adidas, Reebok, Nike, Superga, New Balance, and Lacoste, just to name a few.
Amazon Fashion has been finding ways to better showcase its retailer's products and provide customers with a better shopping experience. The company understands how difficult shopping online can be, especially for clothes, and is making moves to alleviate the worries customers have.
AR adoption has been on a high ever since the pandemic hit, forcing brands to scramble for alternatives to physical experiences. Platforms such as Pinterest and Snapchat have their own features to allow users to try on clothes and makeup, too.
The new feature by Amazon can be found in its shopping app on iOS and will launch in America and Canada first. Currently, the app is undergoing its final rounds of testing and only select customers will have access to it.
